9. Bowel Issues
Contrary to the belief that bowel issues are all caused by irregularities in the digestive system, having irregular production of hormones in the thyroid glands may give rise to this symptom as well. Thyroid hormones are responsible for metabolism too and can disrupt the bowel movement in your body. It may result in either diarrhea or loose stools and constipation or a tough time in defecating.
Problems in bowel movement due to thyroid problems cannot be eased by consuming fiber-rich food or water as it is an hormonal issue. Get professional help if you experience bowel issues that are persistent and do not go away.
