10. Mental Confusion
In addition to the usual sunburn symptoms, like reddening of the skin and discomfort, sun poisoning can also affect other areas of your body such as your brain. After too much sun exposure, it is not uncommon for one to experience mental confusion. Mental confusion is often a side effect of the extreme dehydration associated with sunburn. This symptom is often best treated with fluids and even intravenous fluids in extreme cases.

Sun poisoning is a severe reaction to too much time spent in the sun without proper protection. A number of factors can lead to one person being more prone to sun poisoning than others. Those factors include the following:
- People with fair skin
- Anyone taking antibiotics
- People with family members who have had skin cancer or are at a high risk of skin cancer
- Those who live in regions close to the equator
- People who live at high altitudes
