10. Weakness in Hands
Although having a tear on the rotator cuff will not trigger any issues with the hands, the strength of the hands can be affected after a torn rotator cuff. However, the weakness is usually temporary and is more neurological by nature. This is basically our body’s way of stopping the area that gets injured so as to avoid another injury.
If your hands are weakened due to the injury, you will find it difficult to hold some objects. Take note that the muscles that are responsible for controlling the hands are not on the hand itself, but rather in the arms. Once the patient can recover from the injury, the strength of the hands will be back to normal.
