8. Depression and Anxiety
Women who are at the perimenopause phase can also suffer from different emotional symptoms, including anxiety, depression, sadness, difficulty to focus, and lack of motivation. All these emotional changes will take place when the woman’s estrogen level declines. These can also worsen the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.
If you feel like you cannot cope with the emotional changes that are going on, try to find someone whom you can talk to. Don’t keep these feelings to yourself. Talk to a friend or join a support group. If the symptoms get worse, consider seeing a psychologist. Your doctor can also prescribe you medications and will recommend certain therapies to help you cope with these emotional changes.
