Women going through the perimenopause stage will find it hard to get a good night’s sleep because of the symptoms that this condition brings. Aside from the hot flashes and night sweats, this condition can also make some women feel depress and anxious, which makes sleeping even more difficult. And as the level of estrogen goes down, women who are in perimenopause will be more susceptible to several stressors.

At the perimenopause stage, women will be going through lots of significant events in their life, one of which is the so-called “empty nest” syndrome where their grownup children would have to leave them for college and some other reasons. All these stressors could keep them awake at night, which can further exacerbate insomnia.
