10. Urine Leakage or Urgency
When a woman is on the perimenopause phase, she will start to experience several urinary symptoms. That’s because the urethra serves as the transport tube, which is responsible for excreting urine coming from the bladder. At the perimenopause phase, the urethral lining will get thinner and less elastic due to the decrease in estrogen level and this explains the urinary issues.
This can make a woman susceptible to UTI or urinary tract infections that will result in an increased urgency and frequency of urination, difficulty in urinating, and leakage when laughing, sneezing or coughing.
