Aside from constipation, a patient suffering from pancreatic cancer can also experience several other changes in the digestive tract. These changes can trigger diarrhea and indigestion. Sometimes, these symptoms are a result of the overuse of laxatives, which is used to treat constipation. Other factors that can trigger the changes are bowel obstruction, surgery, and the deficiency of pancreatic enzymes.
The management and treatment of indigestion will mainly depend on the underlying causes. In the same way, the changes in bowel movement will also depend on its cause. Regulation of fluid and food will be required in most cases. Sometimes, the doctor will prescribe antidiarrheal medications.
