8. Cough and Shortness of Breath
Cough and shortness of breath are also symptoms of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This is because lymphomas may also occur around the chest area through a lymph node or through the thymus, a gland that is located near the heart and breastbone. Lymphomas in this region of the body may result in increased pressure on the trachea or windpipe. This may lead to many adverse effects such as difficulty in breathing, cough, painful chest, and other respiratory-related issues.
It may also have an impact on the superior vena cava, a primary vein that carries blood to the body. Compression of the SVC may result in serious problems such as inflamed veins in the upper parts of the body and may cause discoloration due to the lack of blood and oxygen.
