3. Fever

Just like many other disease or infection, a common but non-specific symptom of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is having fever. Fever usually occurs as the body’s defense mechanism to harmful substances. People who are suffering from non-Hodgkin lymphoma may encounter a body temperature that is higher than 38 degrees Celsius.

Fever due to this illness is usually persistent and without any pattern. It may be recurrent or can be experienced as a prolonged indication. However, in some cases, a weekly decrease in temperature is observed. Some suggest that cytokines or a substance released by the immune cells are responsible for this symptom.
