7. Sensitive to Touch
Sometimes, the opposite of numb feelings can occur when experiencing symptoms of neuropathy. Instead of experiencing numbness, you may be feeling overly sensitive to touch. These sensations also work with the body to trigger or stop the triggers of pain signals. Oftentimes, the sensitivity can create pain alongside the other symptoms, which are referred to as hyperalgesia, allodynia, and paresthesia. Some patients with these neuropathy symptoms have described this overly painful stimulation as bad as burning. That specific symptom is the aforementioned hyperalgesia that causes extreme pain for a trigger that typically would only have caused mild pain.
