4. Having a High Fever

It is pretty common for patients to develop a high fever at the start of measles. The fever can go as high as 40-41 degrees celsius or 104-106 fahrenheit. At this stage, it is still hard to come up with a definite diagnosis when other symptoms of measles are still not present as fever is a universal symptom of many other illnesses as well.

The only clear indication that you have measles when having a fever is when rashes start appearing on the forehead. Usually, the temperature of the patient will rise dramatically once the rashes start to develop. This is often a clear indication of measles.
