5. Memory Problems
Some patients who were diagnosed with Lyme disease have suffered from memory problems, more specifically short-term memory loss. Sometimes, this symptom is accompanied by a difficulty in focusing and concentrating, along with several other neurocognitive factors. There are also cases when memory problems can make the patient suffer from depression and anxiety.
Memory problems are considered a 3rd stage symptom of Lyme disease. However, this symptom is not always linked to the disease and often goes unnoticed. Anyone suffering from an unusual level of memory problems, especially forgetfulness should immediately see a doctor to rule out the presence of infection.
