5. Decrease in Blood Flow
The longer the hernias are left untreated the larger they get. As they increase in size they are more likely to become strangulated and decrease or block blood flow to the affected area. Not only is this incredibly painful but it can be detrimental to the rest of your body as well. With strangulation the blood flow to other parts of your body can also decrease which can cause a drastic, dangerous drop in your blood pressure. Allowing the problem to persist untreated can aggravate pre-existing heart conditions and increase the probability of developing other heart problems.
