7. Decreased Appetite
It is normal for both kids and adults with hand foot mouth disease to have a decrease in appetite. This is especially so as the infection can make the person feel nauseated and end up vomiting. A lot of patients will feel that there is no point in eating if they only end up throwing up. Because of this, they will avoid eating all kinds of foods, including those that they use to love.
Although it is not a good idea to force the patient to eat, it is important to ensure that he or she will get at least a few daily nutrients. The nutrients can help the body to fight off the disease resulting in faster recovery.
