3. Bloody Stools
Bloody stool is also a sign and symptom of C. diff infection. Eliminating feces or stools is an integral part of the digestive process. It is the body’s way of excreting substances that it no longer needs. A lot of diseases can be diagnosed by having a close examination of the patient’s stool. A normal stool is usually brown in color with consistency that is not painful or uncomfortable to pass by the digestive tracts.
Anything that is unusual in its appearance may indicate a health issue. In cases of C. diff, patients who developed internal trauma and other complications may notice bloody stools. Since it is an indication of an advanced case of C. diff, patients who have bloody stools shall seek medical attention as soon as possible.
