7. Dark Stools
One of the most telling signs of our overall health condition is the color of our stools. In fact, the color of our stools will vary depending on our diet or the foods that we eat. This is the reason why doctors will often require patients to submit a stool sample during check-ups.
Although having a dark stool is not always due to ulcers, if the stool is sticky and is more smelly than usual, this could be an indication of a stomach ulcer. That’s because the blood could leak into the stomach if the person has an ulcer. It will then mix with food and this is will cause the stool to become sticky and thick.
