Some autoimmune diseases cause mild effects to the body and some may lead to severe ones such as lupus. Lupus focuses on destroying multiple organs in the body and therefore disrupts the bodily functions.
Contrary to the belief that lupus is a skin disorder due to the rashes, breakouts, and spots, those are actually signs of an organ breakdown. When this autoimmune disease affects organs such as kidneys and the brain, it displays more obvious symptoms in the form of skin abnormalities. If you notice these skin changes, have it checked by a specialist as it may indicate underlying lupus.
