Seizure is another sign and symptom of autism. It has been found that 4 out of 10 people diagnosed with autism suffer from seizures. Generally, those people with autism and have the most impaired cognitive abilities are the ones who are at high risk of suffering from seizures.
The seizure episodes in people with autism will usually occur during childhood or right after the individual reaches teenage years. However, medical research says that there’s not a standard pattern for seizures among autistic individuals. The seizures could be the same with epileptic seizures. During mild cases, clinical testing is the only way to know if the seizure has actually occurred.
