6. Unusual Touch and Sound Sensitivities
Another sign of autism is having unusual sound and touch sensitivities. A person diagnosed with autism will have a different way of responding to certain sounds or objects. Some people with this condition are very sensitive to noise. For instance, even the sound of a fan can make them uncomfortable. Toddlers with this condition will get bothered easily by the noise in their surroundings that they will end up crying.
Some people with autism are sometimes sensitive to physical touch. They will end up recoiling when touched gently. These are the areas where therapists will have to employ different strategies to help the person cope with different sounds and touches.
