9. Fever
Pancreatitis is characterized by an inflamed pancreas due to a lot of possible reasons such as gallstones, alcoholism, side effects of certain medications, and infection. Pancreatitis due to infections is often addressed with antibiotics to combat the bacteria causing it. In addition, our body has a natural defense mechanism to fight illnesses and infections such as fever. Therefore, fever is one of the non-specific symptom of acute pancreatitis.
When the body increases its temperature, some pathogens that are causing the infection may perish. Fever is not an illness but it should not be overlooked as a serious health matter may be triggering it. Let your doctor know if you have a persistent fever.
