5. Rapid Heartbeat
Having a rapid heartbeat can also be a sign of sepsis. Our heart is the main organ responsible for pumping and producing blood that can be utilized by the entire body. Without it, life is not possible. As infections affect the amount of oxygen in the blood, suffering a huge decrease in oxygenated blood may lead to the heart to work double-time in trying to fix this issue. When this happens, rapid or fast heartbeats can be observed.
There are a lot of other normal instances wherein we experience rapid heartbeats; however, if you are encountering one without a known obvious cause such as excitement or shock, it is best to consult your doctor of what may be causing this abnormality.
