8. Environmental Toxins
Another trigger of autoimmune disease is environmental toxins. Environmental toxins consist of small or microparticles that cannot be seen by the naked eye and are impossible to avoid. These toxins can cause harm to the body by simply inhaling it and is famous to be a threat to our system.
It may be present in the air that we breathe or food and drinks that we ingest. It is also known to trigger an autoimmune disease attack. One good example of an environmental toxin would be mercury which may be present in contaminated drinking water and some cosmetic products.
