Dairy products such as milk, ice cream, cheese, and butter may also be a trigger of autoimmune disease. Just like gluten, people who have autoimmune diseases should stay away or avoid consuming dairy products. These products contain a type of protein called casein which usually causes inflammation and is a major contributing factor for autoimmune diseases.

It is great to know that there are now a lot of substitute products to dairies such as almond milk, soy milk, vegan butter, vegetable oil, and more. Always consult your doctor if dairy products seem to be a trigger for your autoimmune disease.
