5. Dizziness or Fainting
Another indication that there is an increase in the level of adrenal hormones that occurs in a panic attack is dizziness or fainting. The increase of these hormones in a panic attack causes multiple breathing issues such as hyperventilation and gasping which disrupts the carbon dioxide flow in the body. When this happens, the blood vessels that are responsible for carrying oxygenated blood into the brain are inflamed and do not function well which causes lightheadedness.
Some people experience blackouts or fainting in cases wherein rapid breathing is experienced for a long period of time. Practice deep breathe-in and breathe-outs when you encounter this symptom.
