Infections are often associated with irritation, swelling, and redness in the affected area. Oral thrush is not an exception to this. Sufferers may notice a change in color characterized by a bright redness along the inside and outside of the mouth. This is due to the blood vessels being inflamed when the blood flow is disrupted.

The redness may sometimes be experienced along with discomfort and soreness of the mouth. If you notice any unusual redness or a sudden change in the color of your mouth, contact your physician to advise you of proper treatment and prevention of this particular symptom.
