7. Pyomyositis

Another symptom that will appear when MRSA is on the advanced stage is pyomyositis. This is a type of abscess that will develop into the skeletal muscle tissue. Pyomyositis usually occurs in the gluteus or quadriceps muscles, although it can also develop in the other large muscles of the body.

The tissues that were affected with pyomyositis can get very painful and tender and the patient will feel a firm lump underneath their skin. Once pyomyositis grows, it is sometimes accompanied by fever. This skin condition is usually more common in tropical countries and will mostly affect those whose immune system has been compromised.
