10. Frequent Infections
Having frequent infection is also a sign and symptom of leukemia. The white blood cells’ main responsibility is to attack substances that cause infections and harm to the body. In cases of leukemia, though there is more than enough count of adequate white blood cells in the body, these abnormally produced ones do not function properly to fight infections resulting in recurring and prolonged cases.
Leukemia puts the immune system at risk and may cause impairment to its function making it harder for the body to recover. If you notice a recurring infection or frequently catch one regardless of observing precautions, it may mean that your immune system is compromised, and leukemia may be the main cause.
