The older you get, the more likely you are going to have potential symptoms of high cholesterol since the risk factors go up after you turn twenty. They become more of an issue every 4 to 6 years that you live after that, so it is important to check your cholesterol to make sure it is not above 240 milligrams per deciliter. A reading beyond this point indicates that you have the hyperlipidemia or high cholesterol. It does not take anything more than being older to indicate potential symptoms from having the problems associated with high cholesterol in general.
