5. Straight Lines Appearing Curved
Patients with retinal detachment will also experience conditions where straight lines, such as roads and walls will appear curved. Although this symptom is not something serious, this can pose a serious danger when driving. To diagnose this symptom, doctors will use a tool known as the Amsler grid. This tool consists of vertical and horizontal lines that will be used to monitor the central visual field of the patient.
The Amsler grid can help to detect any visual disturbances as a result of retinal changes. This problem is also common among patients suffering from other conditions, such as choroidal rupture, macular degeneration, multifocal choroiditis, etc.
