9. Repetition
If someone has dementia, you will also notice problems with repetition in different severity. Patients who have dementia often end up forgetting if they have already done certain task such as going to the grocery, washing their car or even having a meal. Therefore, it is common for people with dementia to end up doing tasks over and over again. You may find them suddenly untying their shoes and tying them again for several times within a particular hour. These things can be confusing to family and friends with some thinking that the patient may have obsessive-compulsive disorder.
