5. Difficulty Swallowing
This symptom is not usually noticed or present in most burning mouth syndrome cases. However, a patient may encounter this along with other symptoms as well. Difficulty in swallowing is a non-specific indication of BMS as there are other illnesses that display this condition as a symptom. It is medically known as dysphagia and may pose other health risks such as malnutrition, aspiration pneumonia, and choking.
If you are having difficulty swallowing, you may be suffering from burning mouth syndrome. Do not neglect this symptom as uneasiness may lead to pain in eating or drinking as well as vomiting and weight loss.
