6. Lower-extremity Edema
Another sign and symptom of bladder cancer is edema is the lower leg. There are a lot of health issues that result in swelling of certain body parts. This condition is medically called edema. It can be due to pregnancy, infections, and even bladder cancer. Edema in the lower extremities of a patient that has malignant or severe bladder cancer is usually observed. This happens when the bladder becomes enlarged and full due to the inability to eliminate urine.
The enlarged bladder then impedes the veins in the lower extremities resulting in swelling. There are numerous complications that are brought by lower-extremity edema, such as impaired joint movements, pain in the ankles, increased weight, and more.
