4. Paleness
Anemia symptoms may also include pale lower eyelids and skin. When your hemoglobin is low, your blood becomes less red. The result is often a loss of the rosy color of the skin. You may notice paleness in one area or throughout your entire body. Paleness occurs more frequently with severe or moderate anemia so it might not be obvious.
It can be confirmed through a blood test. Carefully pull down your lower eyelid. You should see a vibrant red coloring. If your eyelid is yellow or a very faint pink, this may be a good indication you have developed iron-deficient anemia.
