10. Peptic Ulcers
Peptic ulcers is another cause of bloody stool. Peptic ulcers are internal wounds that develop in the digestive tracts such as the lower part of esophagus, the stomach, stomach lining, and lower intestine. Like ulcerative colitis, peptic ulcers can also be diagnosed when patient experience bloody stools. Ulcerative colitis is due to different reasons such as constant use of certain medications.
Aside from bloody stools, it is often characterized by stomach pain, burning sensation in the digestive passages, loss of appetite, nausea, or puking. Although these symptoms can also occur in other diseases, however, when experienced together, they may hint that something is wrong in your gastrointestinal system and a doctor’s visit is highly recommended.
