As you know, this condition affects the blood vessels and heart and may lead to coronary artery disease that leads to a heart attack, and a stroke. The most common cause of death in diabetes patients is cardiovascular disease, with contributory problems such as high blood pressure, high blood glucose, high cholesterol levels and other risk factors.

Preventative steps
You can reduce your risk for heart disease if you are a patient of diabetes by controlling your weight, exercising, maintaining your blood glucose levels, lowering bad cholesterol, controlling your blood pressure and giving up smoking.
