Pasta Alfredo

One glimpse and you would never thought that this plain jane would land in the list of WORST food for diabetes. Well, like grandma always says "never judge the book by its cover". The alfredo sauce is a concoction of cream, butter and cheese. Paired with white pasta, this dish provides almost nothing but calories, carbs(=sugar) and fat. A restaurant served plate of alfredo pasta could amount to 1000 calories, 100g carbs and 75g fat which is more than sufficient to create chaos in your blood sugar level.

Tip: Choose a tomato-based pasta like Marinara as it contains 75% less calories and 85% less fat as compared to cream-based Alfredo.
