Raisins

Raisins or most dried fruit are thought to be healthy snacks. However, this is not the case for people with diabetes. Raisins contain a high concentration of natural sugars which are easily absorped by the body. Moreover, due to its wilted size, most would naturally consume more numbers of the dried fruit than they would if they were having it fresh. This leads to spikes in blood glucose level and overall increased sugar intake.

Tip: Have dates instead. Dates are an anomalous dried fruit that is thought to be good for diabetics as it high fiber content lowers rate of sugar absorption.
