The study sugessted that eating carbohydrates at the end of the meal can significantly improve type 2 diabetes. The blood sugar levels of the participants during the second meal, where carbs was taken last, was 29% lower at the end of 0.5 hour, 37% at the end of 1 hour and 17% lower 2 hours later. The study also found that insulin levels were far lower when participants started their meal with proteins and vegetables.
This study is a leap forward in diabetes diet and nutrition. Instead of totally avoiding particular foods, patients change the order of their meals to eat in the right sequence so that they are able to enjoy all foods in the right amount.
