Pot Pie

Pot pies are relatively low in carbs, in general, ranging from 60-80 grams of carbohydrates which falls in the diabetic-healthy amount. However, do not be deceived by their small stature, pot pies are exceptionally high in calories, fats, saturated fat and sodium, especially in the case of frozen microwaved varieties. Despite containing only 66 grams of carbohydrate, a KFC pot pie amounts to 790 calories, 45 grams of total fat, 37 grams of saturated fat and 1,970 miligrams of sodium.

Tip: If you really have to, go to a cafe that serve daily freshly made pot pies. Try not to devour the entire pie but leave the butter-soaked bottom and side pastry as it also means leaving some carbohydrates, sugar and fats behind.
