Why Should Diabetics Eat Freekeh?

The ancient grain has almost three times the quantity of protein and fiber that you would find in brown rice. It is also low on glycemic index and contains a kind of carbohydrate called resistant starch that is less impactful on blood glucose than any other kinds of carbohydrate. Freekeh also contains carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin that prevent macular degeneration. And, being prebiotic in nature, it is good for healthy bacteria in the stomach thus aiding digestion.
