Sleep is the key to recovery from every illness. Surveys have shown that 75% of bipolar patients experience sleeping problems such as insomia or REM. The irregular sleeping patterns often worsen the manic-depressive symptoms in patients. It is hence important to ensure sufficient rest to see improvements in the mood disorder. Restoring sleep is the first step to restoring mood. Try exercising before dinner, stop caffeine intake late in the day and practise relaxation techniques to improve sleep.
Tip: Some bipolar medication can cause side effects that distrupt sleep. Consult your doctors when need be.
