There is no doubt that fruit juice beverage companies have done exceptionably well in their marketing. We have seen a drastic increase in supply of juice drinks, juice shops and even juicer products. Yet, unlike what we have been brainwashed to think, fruit juice, be it fresh or packaged in a carton/bottle, are stripped of most of its vitamins and all of its fiber. What is left in the juice is merely a whole lot of sugar ready to spike our blood glucose.
Tip: Have a slice or a whole low sugar fruit instead. Eating the fruit as it is has less concentrated sugar and retains more of its vitamins. The fiber provided by the fruit can also reduce the rate of absorption of its sugar.
