How Much Fiber Do We Need?

To achieve normal levels of blood sugar, diabetics must eat about 50 grams of fiber each day from foods such as present in legumes, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and fruits. In order to reap the benefits of slowing down the rate of sugar absorption, these fiber rich foods should be eaten lightly cooked and in its unprocessed natural state. For this reason, eating an apple is more preferable to drinking its juice.
