• Frail and abnormal blood vessels develop and ooze out blood into the middle of the eye, causing blurred vision. This is called Proliferative Retinopathy and is stage No. 4 of this condition.
• Fluid can also ooze into the middle of the macula, where the eye provides straight ahead vision. This fluid causes the macula to swell and lead to blurred vision. It is called Macular Edema and can appear at any stage of diabetic retinopathy, although it is likelier to occur as the disease advances.
