Blurred vision

If your diabetes is completely out of control, it can lead to diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataracts. These diabetes eye complications will intitally surface as vison impairments. However, if you leave it untreated, it can result in loss of vision or blindness.

Wounds that refuse to heal

While diabetes reduces blood flow, uncontrolled diabetes leads to poor blood circulation. This does not facilitate the healing of wounds because healthy blood cells don't reach where they are required. As a result, open wounds can fester and turn into sores and ulcers. Over time, wounds may become infected and amputation may be the last resort to prevent the spread of the infection.

Numbness in the feet

High blood glucose levels can lead to nerve damage or neuropathy in the limbs, a condition is known as diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This diabetic complication exhibit symptoms like numbness and tingling sensations in the hands and feet. It can also inhibit you from feeling anything hot or cold.
