How mindfulness and mindful eating works?

Mindfulness can help diabetics reduce the stress and anxiety imposed by their condition. Hence, practicing mindfulness helps diabetics lower their blood pressure levels, improve depression, prevent eating disorders and reduce fear of other health worries.

According to studies, there are seven attitudes taught during mindfulness meditation: Don't be judgmental, be patient, think like a beginner, trust yourself and your environment, don't work to make things happen, concentrate on the present, accept what comes to you and let go. These attitudes are best practiced along with proper breathing exercises.

Mindful eating allows one to be more aware of hunger and fullness to prevent overeating. It forces one to eat with all the senses, sight, smell, taste and mind so that one experience his or her food entirely. This generates a sense of satisfaction and triggers the "full" button.
