Digging Deeper Into The Mediterranean Diet

One focus is to understand what fat types to eat in opposed to focusing on reducing the total fat amount in the daily diet. Hence, the presence of fats in this diet is considered healthy.

The Mediterranean diet is really not too different with other diets. But, the results are totally different as compared to others. Why? The constant use of olive oil in the Mediterranean diet helps the body to improve the levels of insulin. Olive oil is much better as compared to margarine or butter as it reduces the saturated fats intake. This decreases the levels of blood glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol. Additionally, a strong antioxidant in garlic is also present in the Mediterranean diet.
