Morton’s neuroma is usually caused by wearing tight shoes or heels, which is why a high percentage of people who suffer from this type of neuroma are women. Constant usage of these shoes tends to damage the nerves and sometimes cause a sharp and burning pain.

Burning pain is a common symptom of Morton’s neuroma.  The pain commonly start at the ball of the foot and the sensation spreads to the end of the toes.
